ATARAXIA
It felt refreshing to finally come around to capturing trees that I've walked past for over 3 years. Obviously, trees grow quickly and some slowly, some are dying and some are just growing. In this specific location an open patch in the woodland allowed for a gentle glimmer of light to catch the trees, these two miniature silver birch really caught my attention. Going with the long lens helped separate these subjects and increase that depth into the background to ultimately show off the display of these snow-covered young trees which look like they are glowing. The heavy snowfall synergised with the softening effects. A simple handheld image stood in the cold, with no gloves on as the huge feather-like snowflakes float down to the ground, representing a tranquil, quiet and anxiety-free zone, Atartaxia
