‘SQUABBLE’
Story
Approaching this scene for the one-millionth time I thought it was definitely time to capture it, as the heavy snow rests on the thick and delicate branches of these two trees, to me this scene looks like the two characters are having a bit of an argument or a Squabble, the way the trunks lean back & those wrist-like branches angle upward with the thinner finger-like twigs pointing over to each other. Locking and intertwining with each other. This was taken whilst in a heavy snow blizzard in winter last year. I walk around my local woodland all year round and see the difference of seasons, when I wander around I start to build up a map in my head of all the trees I've walked past and constantly think "I'll photograph those trees one day when the conditions are right". Scouting my woodland all year although most of the time not gaining any 'portfolio worthy' photographs is a great way to spend time and scout for the future without any pressure. This time the "right conditions" were the heavy snow and becoming very familiar with this spot, I thought this is the time. All the time scouting definitely adds up to be worth it in the end, getting to know my woodland deeply has helped me create images ever since I first started.
