Insight.

The change in shutter speed can dramatically adjust the emotion in an image. This is the case here. I see often water is completely blurry with no texture from long exposure, and yes sometimes it works well for specific images. However, with powerful waterfalls I find the opposite to be the best way forward. Shooting in a melee of differentiating shutter speeds I finally found the speed and movement I wanted to create the effective dynamic luminosity and emotion. My aim within this image is to evoke and express a powerful and strong waterfall with those elegant flicks of water blowing back up the clough. It is a truly spectacular sight to see, but a lot of time and effort when into creating this image. Many elements have to come together for this to work.
